Set directly on the shores of Gili Meno, Meno House is a boutique beachfront retreat where architecture and landscape are almost impossible to separate. White sand, tropical vegetation, timber, natural textures and the turquoise waters of the island create a setting that feels deliberately understated rather than overly polished.

For this project, I wanted to photograph Meno House as a complete visual environment. Instead of focusing only on the villas and interiors, I looked at the relationship between each element of the property, the way a terrace opens towards the sea, how the pool sits within the architecture, how palm trees frame a building, or how a simple piece of furniture changes against the surrounding landscape.

The objective was to create images that feel immersive and transportive, giving the viewer the impression of already being somewhere on the island rather than simply looking at a hotel.

During the warmer months, the heated swimming pool and outdoor spaces become an extension of the house. With its pool bar, surrounding garden and views across the countryside, the setting naturally lends itself to slow afternoons and relaxed gatherings. The photography therefore moves outside to capture the property as it is experienced during summer: a morning swim, a few hours spent in the sun, drinks shared outdoors and the transition from afternoon light into the evening.

These lifestyle images bring another dimension to the property, showing not only what guests can expect to find, but how they might actually spend their time there. For hospitality photography, these moments are essential: they transform a beautiful location into an experience that feels tangible and desirable before the guest has even arrived.

The villas at Meno House are designed to feel private without becoming disconnected from the landscape. Natural materials, generous proportions, outdoor showers, private terraces and views towards either the garden, pool or sea create a continuous transition between indoor and outdoor living. The beachfront villas open directly towards the sand, while the sea-view and garden-view accommodations offer different perspectives on the same relaxed island environment.

I photographed these spaces with a strong emphasis on composition and natural light, allowing the architecture to remain at the centre of each frame. Rather than filling the images with unnecessary styling, the aim was to preserve the simplicity of the interiors and let the surrounding environment provide the atmosphere.

The luxury at Meno House is intentionally understated. There is no need for excessive decoration when the setting already provides the strongest visual element: the sea, the sand, the tropical landscape and the changing light of the island. The experience is built around simplicity, privacy and the freedom to move between the beach, the pool, the villa and the restaurant at your own pace.

This is what I wanted the photography to communicate. Not a polished version of island life, but a sense of ease, the feeling of stepping outside barefoot, spending the afternoon by the water and watching the light change across the property as the day comes to an end.

Your property deserves images that book rooms.
