Some properties stop you in your tracks before you even unpack the gear. Sunny Garden was one of them. Tucked into the quiet heart of Berawa, it carries the kind of charm that can't be manufactured, high ceilings, weathered textures, windows that seem designed specifically to catch the Balinese morning light and hold it for as long as possible.
The brief was clear: don't just document the space. Make people feel it. Show what it's actually like to wake up here, to float in that pool, to sit by those windows with a coffee going cold because the light is too good to look away from.
"The windows didn't let light in. They curated it."
The windows were the real discovery. Tall, slightly imperfect, framed in worn wood, the kind of architectural detail that interior designers spend fortunes trying to replicate. Throughout the day, they cast shifting pools of warm light across walls and floors that no artificial setup could have matched. We built the entire shooting schedule around them.
The pool presented a different challenge: it's intimate by design, not a resort showpiece. The goal was to shoot it the way a guest actually experiences it, close, quiet, private. Wide-angle hero shots would have killed exactly what makes it special. We went tight, we went low, we let the surrounding greenery compress the frame.
For the retouching, the direction was retro without being nostalgic. Warm tones, slightly pulled-back contrast, a hint of grain, the kind of edit that makes an image feel like a memory you haven't had yet. The result photographs like Canggu actually feels: golden, a little worn at the edges, entirely itself.
Every image was optimised for dual deployment: high-resolution files for print and press, web-optimised exports sized specifically for OTA hero slots, room pages, and Instagram's 4:5 crop, so the property doesn't lose a centimetre of composition wherever the images land.
Your property deserves images that book rooms.
